FYI: There's a lotta snow outside.

We were literally snowed in this morning. Even on our covered porch we couldn't get the door open!

The first thing my darling husband did this morning was head outside to start shoveling. I joined him as soon as I'd realized he'd begun without me. It was over knee deep when I tried to make my way out to Adam at the end of the driveway. Adam did most of the work and really cleared the driveway.

We still haven't had a plow come down our street. The center of the cul-de-sac is at least three feet deep with the snowdrifts. Good thing we have nowhere to be and we loaded up on all the necessities before the storm hit!

My dad is stuck in Tulsa after originally being scheduled to fly out Friday. He is being ambitious when he's thinking he should still come in tonight. His car is parked at the airport in a minimum of 2.5' of snow. He doesn't get in until after midnight. My mom and I are still hard pressed to get him to reconsider! These were pictures I took to show him just how bad it is:

Somewhere in that mound to the left is our Saturn. Really. If you look closely you can see the driver's side mirror sticking out.

I could go out there and measure the lids of the trash cans, but I think this image speaks for itself.

We now have retaining walls on the driveway. Hard to see as the snow is kind of hard to see, but it's at least 4 feet tall.

  1. Oh my, the kids are very jealous. I just called them down to see these pictures, and Courtney said, "I wish that had happened to us." =)
