Autumn's Surgery

Autumn is scheduled to have surgery on Friday to correct the esotropia in her right eye, which is fancy Doctor speak for her lazy eye.

To say I'm nervous is an understatement. I mean, I'm okay, but I'm nervous. Nervous she won't wake up. Nervous that it won't work. Nervous that she'll panic and freak out. Nervous to see her body go limp and lifeless when they put her under. Ugh. Nervous.

We have our pre-op appointment on Thursday. My dad and Adam will give her a blessing on Thursday night and I will take her to the doctor Friday morning. Adam asked me about taking the day off but I told him not to. Only one of us can go back with her when they put her under, and the surgery doesn't take long and she comes home the same day. Seemed silly. Brody will spend the night at my mom's house so I don't have to worry about him.

They wanted the money for the surgery up front, which is absurd. I said no way and they said they could do a payment plan, but I needed to put down a deposit. I got them down to a deposit of like $300, and now we have to make monthly payments of $260 something dollars. Can we afford that? No, not really. But, she has to have the surgery. We'll just have to use our tax return to pay off the surgery. Oh and this is with insurance, insurance we pay $740 a month for.

Fingers crossed it all goes well!
