Thanksgiving 2011

Thanksgiving has come and gone! It can be stressful and a little chaotic with almost 30 people under one household for the greater part of the day, but nothing beats spending the holidays with family. My out of town siblings drove in for the day and it was great for the cousins to spend lots of time together!

Before the meal, my sister in law Chelsey had a fun craft project for the kids. We painted up their hands and made a super cute table cloth for my mom!

Autumn LOVED getting her hands painted. The only problem was she wanted to keep doing it over and over again, and it was one print per kid. =)

It is hard to fit everyone at one time for dinner, but that doesn't change the fact it is a very yummy dinner! My contributions were the punch, mashed potatoes, and a few desserts for after dinner.

In addition to "Dirt" pie (a kid favorite), I made this little number. My brother gasped when I said wasn't planning on making a chocolate pie, so I threw this together at the last minute. When I was at the grocery store staring at the baking isle, a worker asked if I needed anything, since I was deep in thought. "No, I'm just trying to make up a pie..." And make it up I did! I called it a "White Chocolate Reeses Peanut Butter Pie". It was cream cheese, powdered sugar, peanut butter, whipped cream, chopped white chocolate peanut butter cups, chocolate syrup and chocolate sprinkles. It was a hit!

It was a great week and we were sad to see everyone go. Autumn loved having so many playmates and cousins nearby!
