Officially a Homeowner

Yep, you read that right. I'm officially the owner of my own home!

Well, to be specific I'm the official "loan-payer-offer" of a home! We won't own it for about 30 years but, hey!

After we signed the papers I asked Adam, "So, would you like to go see the inside of the house you just bought?!"

It needs a lot of work. Right now it looks a bit of a mess. The carpet really needs to be replaced on the main and upper levels. It needs painting just about everywhere but the basement. These people must have been really strapped for cash because instead of paper their children drew on the walls. Lots of fixtures need to be changed out or "revitalized". The sellers also left behind a lot of random junk that I have to throw away. Anyone need some tires, a questionable 2nd fridge in the basement or orange traffic cones?

Being an adult is a lot of responsibility - and expensive.

Ready for the new challenge! Stay tuned for pictures tomorrow!

P.S. I've already filed for my $8k. Not like I'm excited or anything.

  3. Congrats! I promise it will have it's ups and downs, but all in all its a great experience and atleast you are no longer throwing your money away!

I feel bad because we did the same thing to our last house we sold, well, we didn't leave junk, but we left a set of really expensive rims in our attic because we were too pressed for time to sell them. I hope our buyers sold them and used the $300 dollars to repaint Cannon's room that was the brightest shade of orange in the universe. Surprised we even sold it with all the painting we did haha.
